Question Answer
I'm playing golf but can't stay for dinner — do I still pay the full amount? Yes. The day rate is a flat £75.00 for members and £85.00 for guests, whether or not you stay for dinner. There are no partial rates or concessions.
Can I come to dinner without playing in the golf? Yes, members are welcome to join the evening festivities even if they can't play that day, though a £20.00 charge applies.
Can I bring a guest to dinner if they haven't played in the event? No. Guests may only attend the evening festivities if they've taken part in that day's event — this applies even if the guest has played or attended PGS functions before.
Can I keep my phone on during the day for work or emergencies? You're welcome to keep your phone switched on. However, answering a call on the course, in the clubhouse, or on the practice area will result in disqualification, regardless of the reason.
Can I register after the official cut-off if I have a prior commitment? Yes, late registration is allowed, but it comes with a 2-point penalty.
I originally said I'd stay for dinner — can I change that on the day? Yes, you can change your dinner plans at any point up to and during registration. If you change it after registration closes, you'll forfeit any prizes you'd otherwise have qualified for, and you'll start your next event with a 2-point penalty.
What happens if I don't show up to dinner without letting anyone know? You'll lose any prizes you won that day, and you'll begin your next event with a 2-point penalty.
Can I ask not to be a group captain? You can ask, though we'd encourage you to take on some role within the society if you're able to.
Since I'm not staying for dinner, can I request an early tee time? We'll do what we can to accommodate that, but depending on groupings and logistics on the day, it isn't always possible.
If I pull out after the deadline, do I still have to pay? Yes. Withdrawing after the deadline means you're charged for the day, up to a cap of £70.00. Members who do this repeatedly may be charged the full cost regardless of that cap.
Does that still apply if I've been injured? Yes, the same policy applies.
What time does registration start? Registration times vary by event, so always check the event page on the website. If you're still unsure, get in touch with the PGS Committee.
How do I find out how to get to the venue? Directions are listed on the website under that event's page.
